Step into a winter wonderland on these Winter Light Trails
Published
The countdown to Christmas has officially begun, with tickets now on sale for this year’s Winter Light Trail events, promising families a magical after-dark festive experience across three UK locations.
Returning to Delapré Abbey in Northampton, Trentham Gardens and Nottingham’s Wollaton Hall & Deer Park, Winter Light Trail will transform each location into an even bigger and brighter festive wonderland, with all-new immersive installations, larger-than-life walk-through displays, interactive activities, immersive soundscapes and magical photo opportunities.
Tickets are available across super off-peak, off-peak, standard and peak dates, with prices starting from £17 per adult and £12.50 per child, while children under three go free.
The trails will bring families together for an unforgettable celebration of colour, sound and wintry wonder, with each location offering its own unique festive setting and attractions.
With all three trails running until 3rd January 2027, the Trentham Gardens trail runs from 20th November and features a brand-new trail route and illuminations highlighting favourite features of the historic gardens. At Wollaton Hall & Deer Park, the trail runs from 25th November and will feature a brand-new whimsical fairytale zone alongside the immersive installations. Delapré Abbey in Northampton will welcome visitors from 27th November, with a brand-new trail route bringing the historic setting to life after dark.
Across all three trails, visitors can enjoy a mile-long illuminated route packed with festive sights, alongside food and drink stops offering a selection of sweet and savoury treats from independent stalls.
The Food Village will serve up festive favourites, including toasted marshmallows with hot chocolate and frosty beer or mulled wine alongside festive Yorkshire pudding wraps. An Après Ski bar will offer the perfect place to continue the celebrations, while private mini chalets are also available to book for groups of 8-10 to dine exclusively.
The trails are also dog-friendly, giving visitors the chance to bring their four-legged friends along for a festive walk and enjoy the magic of Christmas together.
Jonathan Ware, Director at Winter Light Trail, said: “For more than five years, our Winter Light Trails have been a much-loved Christmas family tradition. We’ve welcomed thousands of visitors and their four-legged friends along to make special memories that will last a lifetime, and this year will be no exception.
“From the moment families arrive, there’ll be plenty to discover with magical moments around every corner and opportunities for festive photos enjoying the trail together. We’re incredibly excited to welcome everyone back for another season of fun.”
