The dirty dozen


Every year, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) publish a list of fruits and vegetables that have the highest amount of pesticide residue left on the skin once it has been washed and prepared, when grown on a non-organic farm.

Often, the benefits of that fruit or veg are completely lost because of these residues. 2022’s list from worst to a little less worse is:

1. Strawberries

2. Spinach

3. Kale and spring greens

4. Nectarines

5. Apples

6. Grapes

7. Peppers

8. Cherries

9. Peaches

10. Pears

11. Celery

12. Tomatoes
